Well, now we know....

Some time ago, I noted the rather quiet way in which Carolyn Doran was removed from the Foundation's roster. It seems we now know why, thanks to Cade Metz of the Register.

The only real question now is, how long before the Foundation rewrites history to claim that Carolyn Doran was never an employee?

  1. Wow, I actually laughed as I read this...I don't think that's a good thing.

It's probably already happening. Jimbo and co are coming out with so many revisionist rebuttals it has become a running joke on his talk page. Jimbo has only just insisted that he has "never appointed anyone to ArbCom with less than 50% support."

    True. With the exception of:
    1. Theresa Knott 265 (51%)
    2. Raul654 216 (42%)
    3. Ambi 203 (39%)
    4. Sannse 187 (36%)
    5. Neutrality 171 (33%)
    6. David Gerard 166 (32%)
    7. Grunt 162 (31%)

In the same post he writes "There are a lot of lies and misunderstandings that go unchecked when people do not engage in simple questioning and critical thinking."

Well you got that right Jimbo.

  3. To be fair, anonymous, in that election, users were automatically named to the Arbitration Committee based on the results -- Jimbo didn't appoint anyone in that election.

That election was also one using the Boardvote software, which was approval voting only (meaning someone who wanted only to vote for Theresa, for example, essentially voted against every other candidate). Thus, a few of those, at a minimum, probably would have received over 50% had a method that allowed "neutral" (like not voting for an on-wiki candidate) been used.

  5. Hey Kelly, who's responsible for hiring Carolyn? I'm guessing it's not Jimbo.
